Breville uses three different group head sizes across its espresso machine lineup — 50mm, 54mm, and 58mm — and ordering the wrong size means a leaky seal or a basket that simply won't seat properly.

How to Confirm Your Group Head Size
If your model number isn't listed above, or you've removed the label from your machine, here are two quick ways to verify your size:
- Measure the portafilter basket. Remove the basket from the portafilter handle and measure the outer diameter. A 50mm basket measures approximately 51mm across; a 54mm basket measures approximately 54mm; a 58mm basket measures approximately 58mm.
- Check the Breville part number on your old gasket. The number moulded or printed on the gasket will match one of the Breville part numbers listed on each product page.
⚠️ Non-Compatibility Notes
- The Duo-Temp Pro (BES810BSS) uses a 54mm gasket — not 50mm like the original Duo Temp (BES800XL). These two models are often confused because of the similar name.
- The 50mm filter basket is not compatible with the Duo-Temp Pro, Barista Express, Barista Pro, Barista Touch, Bambino, Bambino Plus, or the Infuser — all of which use 54mm baskets.
- The Barista Touch (BES880BSS) uses a 54mm gasket — not 58mm, despite being a higher-end model.
- Sage® models sold in Europe and the UK use the same dimensions as their Breville® equivalents — check the BES model number to confirm.
